It's August?

July went by so fast that I can't believe its August. Oh well, I guess that means that the debate year is almost upon us.

The Yankees once again pulled a fast one on the Red Sox by trading for Bobby Abreu & Cory Lidle and basically giving back nothing for them. They also picked up Craig Wilson a game changer with versatility from Pittsburg. The Wilson trade is important because he can play firstbase, outfield, and catcher so he provides depth to three positions.

Now – we will just have to see how they play.... But, they most certainly did better then the Red Sox who did no major trade deals even though they need help at several positions desperately.

Ok so that’s baseball. Moving on to the rest of the world - allegedly it was very hot outside today. Some went as far as to say we are experiencing a "heat wave". I was outside working with Peter and Aidan from 9am to 4: 30 pm and we had the radio on so we could listen to Rush Limbaugh. Well every thirty min’s we got to laugh our heads off when we heard the news updates which always included at least one comment about "stay inside today with air conditioning - Governor wants emergency cooling centers around the state to open - hospitals expanding to be prepared to treat millions of heatstroke victims - baaa baaaaa baa ba.”… Every once in a while I would turn to whoever working near me and say "is it really hot?” I guess temperature is all relative though because it did actually seem hot outside after I took a break to eat lunch inside with the air conditioning.
