A Case for Farnsworth

If you follow the Yankees at all you have to know that last night, Yankees reliever Kyle Farnsworth, once again, blew a game for the Yankee, ruining Kei Igawa's first chance at actually winning a game in America. So why should the Yankees keep Farnsworth on the team?

The reasons are simple. Once the Yankees dump Farnsworth they'll have no one to pitch in situations where they are trailing by 30 points or more. Another reason for keeping him on the team unlimited is his value as perhaps Alex Rodriguez's pitcher in the Home Run Derby contest! As John Sterling says "it is far! it is high! it is gone!". Keep Farnsworth, for America, for the Yankees, and for the Home Run Derby contest.

What a paradigm shift in perspective!

You've inspired me to, instead of looking at just how bad he's been, to instead look at the good things.

I feel like a butterfly now. Thankyou

Kyle Farnsworth has not lived up to expectations in NY, but he is still worth something. Farnsworth's slider is unhittable, and his fastball is up to 99 m.p.h. He has the talent. And also, he is so expensive. If the Yankees cut him, they'll be paying him... lemme see... 6 million dollars a year for NOT being on the team. That's not a very enticing idea. Furthermore, the Yankees don't have any other proven reliever besides Mariano Rivera. Farnsworth at this point is too risky to sever ties with.

BTW, were you the one complaining about Garko? Why he already has a homerun! Wake up and smell the roses. ;-)

Glad I inspired you DJ....

Really - Fonsworth is better then the guy he replaced - Tanyon Sterz (sp?). But he's not that much greater. As I said, we do need a pitcher for situations when the game is hopeless. Why the Yankees put him in a game that they were only leading by 2 points is beyond me.

Glad you enjoyed your win Ryan! The Original Yankees owner must be in tears though....

This is what I said about Garko a few days ago:

"Ryan Garko is going to be an MVP candidate"

Does that answer the question about smelling the roses? I'm eating the roses:) In the last two games Garko has had 6 hits. Pretty good. Aaron Hill has also been quite amazing (and so far a steal) for the $4.5 I paid for him.

Yes, haydn lewis, I was the one criticising Ryan Garko. He has some talent, but Alex Gordon and Ryan Shealy are way better! Sure, he hit a homer, but Alex Gordon hit one quite a few days b4 Garko did.

They really were Ryan? Was I still in first?

Alex Gordan is batting .111 with 1 HR and 2 RBIs 1 stolen base and 1 caught stealing. 36 ~ AB
Shealy is batting .091 with 2 RBIs and no stolen bases. ~ 33 AB
Garko is .381 with 1 HR and 1 RBI no SB. ~ 21 AB

Still I think that Gordan has better potential. :-)

"I'm eating the roses" Too funny.
